” The Westindian Heritage” is on show in Oslo, Defence Museum from Oct. 10. 2014 untill Aug. 30. 2015

The exhibtion “The Westindian Heritgage” is on show at  the Defence Museum in Oslo from October 10th 2014 until August 30ie 2015.

The museum is placed behind the Akerhus Fortress, access through Kirkegata.


The exhibtion tell the story of the Danish Westindies from the start in 1672 until the end of the Napoleonic wars around 1820. In the exhibition are also artifacts from the famous wreck of the slave vessel FREDENSBORG that was wrecked in 1768 by Arendal in Norway.

September – April: Tuesday – Sunday: 10 AM – 4 PM (Monday closed)

May- August: All days 10 AM – 5 PM
